In order to teach the girls about non-traditional jobs for women, Ms. Cheryl arranged for Judge Hartin to come visit us and tell us about her job as a judge in the Comal Country Court. She was so good with the girls, and from the looks of things, I think she had a great time visiting them as well.
The girls got together and planned a menu and then shopped for all the ingredients needed to make their meal. A week later they gathered at the GS house an hour early to begin preparations their delicious Italian Dinner, complete with chocolate milkshakes. Yum!
The girls went to the New Braunfels Music Center to work on their music Try-It. Steve V and Kori Free showed played a little music for them, showed them around the store, let them try some different instruments, and they even gave them some fun musical gifts too. Thank you to Ms. Cheryl for setting this up and to Steve and Kori for a Rockin' good time!
After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, the girls enjoyed getting together again and starting to prepare for the next BIG event on their calendars....cookie sales!
At our first meeting in October, the girls worked on another Try It about Animals. The learned about domestic and wild animals, played animal charades and even got to adopt a pet of their own to take home and care for.
On September 21st, the girls had worked on their first Brownie Try It, and it was appropriately about "Friendship". It was great to see all the girls back together again and learning about being friends.
To keep the girls connected over the summer since we didn't have any scheduled meetings we made a plan to meetup at the Schlitterbahn Resort Pool. Each mom brought some fun poolside food and GS provided hotdogs and hamburgers. The girls enjoyed swimming and getting to catchup with eachother.
